WHEN
The long-awaited renovation of the historic landmark Bathhouses at Playland, located on thealong the Long Island Sound at Rye Playland, to become the Westchester Children’s Museum is underway.
The County will spend six to eight months restoring the structure for public use, and when they are done, the Museum will begin to build out the interior space with exhibits, multi-use classrooms, a performance theater, cafe, and retail space. If all goes according to plan, the Museum will be open to the public in late 2011.
The Westchester Children's Museum is in the midst of a campaign to raise funds to open the doors of this new vibrant learning center Donate. For now, we operate as a “museum without walls,” offering activities for families as often as possible.
